Mornings are not everybody's cup of tea. Some people struggle to not hit the snooze button just one more time while others are up before the alarm goes off.
Over the years, I have found a morning routine that works for me to get the most done before I go to work and start my day. I would always try to do everything at night and, from time to time, pull allnighters just to get everything done. Those were killer. It made the next day much worse. When I say mornings are the best time to be productive, trust me on this.
Now you may be thinking, "Why is a morning routine so important?"
There are so so many reasons and they all benefit your health in the end.
According to recent studies, having a routine reduces stress, gain more time, increases productivity, and sets the mood for your day. Imagine how much you could get done if you woke up just an hour or 2 earlier than usual!

My Morning Routine
6:00 am: Wash Face and Self Care Routine
Usually, people make their beds in the morning. Wellll, my boyfriend is not a morning person, so as soon as I get up he steals all the blankets. So much for making the bed after I wake up.
6:30 am: Journal with Coffee or Tea
My coffee pot has a setting to make coffee at a specific time, so while I am in the shower the coffee or water is heating up for when I'm out. Depending on the day, I'll have coffee or the occasional lemon tea. I actually keep my journal in the kitchen because this is where I tend to do it the most. My kitchen is almost all windows so I can enjoy the sunrise all while getting ready.
7:00 am: Create To-Do List
For my to-do lists, I only make a list of 3-5 things I would like to accomplish throughout the day. I only do 3-5 because it's not too overwhelming compared to having a list of 10 things that I would like to finish before the days over.
7:10 am: Check Emails
I try to check my email every morning just so they're out of the way and in case I find something that needs to be done ASAP, I can get it done then and there.
7:20 am: Get Ready
It's now time to put on makeup and get my hair done. This really ranges depending on my mood. If I'm feeling really confident that day and like a badass, I might put in a little more effort into my makeup and hair. A majority of the time, I try to keep it simple with a bun and a little mascara.
7:50-8 am: Make Bed
By this time, my boyfriends awake enough for me the make the bed without having to wrestle for the blankets back.
8:05 am: Checkoff things on the to-do list
By this time, I am ready to crush the day!
