Hello Ladies!

Welcome to the first post of MonSLAY! Now you may be thinking, "What the heck in Monslay supposed to be?"

MonSLAY is a series that has a new post every Monday with tips and tricks to get you through your hectic work week. What better way to start this series than to start with finding balance.

For all you boss babes out there, trying to find balance between work, social, maybe even school and motherhood seems nearly impossible. But fear not! I'm going to tell you how I balance my work, relationships, and school all while expecting!

1. Time Management

Sadly for me, I don't have a regular 9-5 job. Because I work within retail, my hours are spread throughout the day and week, so trying to make plans can be difficult at times. Thankfully, my schedule is so far in advance, I can schedule my time around it.

My favorite tool to use to manage my time is Google Calendars. This has been such a lifesaver! You can create calendars for all aspects of your life and even color code them.

2. Priorities

Now this is the part that really bites people in the bud sometimes. I constant thing I used to think before I found the balance was, "there's so much to do and such little time to do it". Wrong! It's all about finding your top priorities! I used this both for at home, work, and school to make headway through my to-do list.

What I want you to do: make a list of 3-5 items daily that need to be done right away or have the closest deadline. You can start with what has the least amount that is involved to the most or vise versa. You can also use time-blocking if that works for you. What I like to do is doing what has the least amount to the most.

3. Werk Honey!

With a little one on the way here soon, sometimes I'll lack motivation (or just in desperate need of a nap) which is all ok! You need time for you as well! If you find yourself in lack of motivation, set aside 10 minutes to scroll through quotes or even listen to a podcast to get you up and going again. In school, to be the most productive, I used to Pomodoro technique and I've used it for everything since!

Now it's time for you to slay the week! Leave a comment below to share your tips and tricks on how you balance everything!
